The world is on fire and you want me to breathe? (Yes, listen here!)
Yesterday, when the hubby took the kids out for a midday bike ride, I sat on the floor of my closet, plugged in the microphone, and pressed record. It wasn't actually that difficult to record a new (micro) podcast. Like most things in life, if you just do it, it’s done. Voilá.
I have to admit, there was a bit of trepidation. I mean, the world was going to hell when I last recorded, but somehow the pandemic felt almost quaint back then, back when we were all baking banana bread and using the 🤷🏼♀️ emoji like it was going out of style because we just didn’t really know anything. ANYTHING. It definitely didn’t feel like something that was going to stick around this long.
And now it just feels like we know SO MUCH.
(and also please, NO MORE BANANA BREAD 🙅🏼♀️🍌, amirite?)
It would be laughable if it were funny. But it’s not. Still, we have to steal joy where we can, and take long, luxurious breaths when we find them. So here’s hoping this provides a little opportunity for both.
In all seriousness though, if there’s ever been a year to remind us of the importance of being able to breathe, it’s this one. Not only the importance, but the ability, the privilege, the basic human right. With so much threatening this fundamental need that we ALL share, there’s work to be done. (Perhaps most importantly at the polls this fall! PSA: have you registered for your absentee ballot yet? If not, what are you waiting for? Click here for info in your state!)
Be sure to sign up for my newsletter to stay connected and (maybe) hear more like this when I can squeeze them in on a lunch hour!
Also, p.s. Most of us are back to school now, but if you're STILL struggling to get the year off on the right foot, the on-demand version of my e-course, A Joyful Return, is still available! And I slashed the price! Click here for more info!
