I open the hotel curtains in the morning to find four girls on the beach.
I have to smile.
That was me once.
Before kids. Before commitments.
Huddled on the beach with my girls.
Waiting for the sunrise.
Giddy with anticipation.
Waiting to see what the day would bring.
"Mama, look at the sunrise," my son says jarring me from my twenties.
"Yes," I say. "Isn't it wonderful?"
